  • Sarah Hendrickson (Park City, UT) came from behind to finish third in a Wordl Cup in Ljubno.
  • Sara Takanashi won to clinch the World Cup title with two events remaining - both mid-March in Norway.
  • It was another strong day for the USA with Lindsey Van fifth and Jessica Jerome (both Park City, UT) seventh.
  • Hendrickson moved up from fifth after the first jump.
  • The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships open Wednesday in Val di Fiemme, Italy. The women's individual competition is Friday with a new mixed gender team event set for Sunday. The Val di Fiemme jumping venue is like a second home to the U.S. women and home of their coach Paolo Bernardi.

QUOTES
Sarah Hendrickson
Ljubno is not my hill typically. I tend to struggle here. But today, technically my takeoff was good and I'm very confident and satisfied with that, especially on my final jump today (Sunday). Ljubno is a really old hill and you still need to use a lot of power. We know our team is well trained and powerful and can handle the days when there is strong wind here.

Jessica Jerome
There are some small technicalities that I need to fix and I'm looking forward to working on that. I'm very optimistic as we head into World Champs. I think we know the Val di Fiemme hill better than some of the other teams going into World Championships," Jerome said. "It's a great hill and you can jump far on a good day. But it is notorious for tailwind, which we definitely don't want.

Paolo Bernardi, Women's Ski Jumping USA World Cup Coach
I am sure we are ready for World Championships right now. We are ready for every single jump.
